Page Rank is, of course, irrelevant to your actual SERPs ranking, but is an indicator of the general health of your site (if your rank is increasing) or ill-health (if it is decreasing). Exact details on how Page Rank is calculated remains a secret that Google keeps close to its chest, but it is certainly related to the number of links pointed at a website, and the quality (influence) of those links. Worth keeping an eye on as an indicator that your site is gaining strength.
